20 White Rock Employees Earn 10-Year Safety Awards

A group of long-term employees at White Rock Quarries has worked a combined total of more than 200 years without a lost time accident!
This outstanding safety performance, achieved by 20 WRQ workers with 10 or more years of safety, has been recognized by the Joseph A. Holmes Safety Association, which operates under the U.S. Department of Labors Mining Health and Safety Administration (MSHA).

Ed Giersdorf, “Gentle Giant”
White Rock Quarries and North American Coal have named the quarrys 58-cubic yard walking dragline “The Gentle Giant” in memory of Dragline Manager Ed Giersdorf, who died last November.

Quarries, Suppliers Present Florida Boy Scouts With $7,000
In a strong show of support for the Miami-Dade community in which they operate, White Rock Quarries and Florida Rock, along with a number of mining industry suppliers, have presented more than $7,000 to the Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Fireball District.
The funds help assure that the Boys Scouts time-honored character-building programs continue for young men across South Florida.
